The orgy of terror started at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the busiest railway station in Mumbai. This attack was carried out by terrorists named Ajmal Amir Kasab and Ismail Khan.


Apart from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus station, terrorists had started attacks on Taj Hotel, Hotel Oberoi, Leopold Cafe, Cama Hospital and many places in South Mumbai. By midnight, attacks were taking place in many areas of Mumbai. Encounter was going on at four places in the city. Apart from the police, paramilitary forces also stood in the field. The attack at so many places at once surprised everyone. Because of this, it was becoming difficult to estimate the number of terrorists.


On the night of 26 November, the terrorists completely turned their attitude towards the Taj Hotel. Here the terrorists had taken many guests hostage, including seven foreign nationals. The heritage wing of the Taj Hotel was set on fire. On the morning of November 27, the NSG commandos had reached to face the terrorists. First, the operation ended on the afternoon of 28 November by freeing the hostages at Hotel Oberoi, and by the evening of the same day, the terrorists of Nariman House were also killed. But it took time till the morning of 29 November to carry out the operation of Hotel Taj.
